Helping the Contreras Family
I am fundraising to help ease the burden on the beautiful Contreras family. Their husband and father, Ray, has devastatingly reached the near-end of his battle with COVID-19. The road ahead for this dear family is full of challenges and uncertainty that very few people will ever have to experience in their life time.
Ray has been nothing short of an amazing husband, father, uncle, and brother. He was always there cheering his brilliant and kind daughters on all their educational and sports endeavors--coaching their teams, traveling to games, and making sacrifices so his girls could have the world. He also was like a father and always there for his nephew. He and his wife Christina have celebrated 21 years of marriage together, and after all these years he still beamed with pride at the sight of Christina, who he still called his "bride". All of the love, values, and work ethic Ray worked so hard to instill in his daughters is evident. Their oldest daughter Hannah is currently in college and Gracie is sure to follow. They are the smartest, kindest, hardworking kids in the entire world.
In late July, both Ray and Christina and their daughter Gracie began to feel symptoms of COVID-19. As Ray was on a work trip, he went to urgent care and the ER various times in Chicago before ultimately being rushed to the ER and admitted into the ICU. A few days later he was placed on a ventilator. As of today he has been on a ventilator for 14 days. His loved ones have flown to Chicago late last night to say their goodbyes as doctors have advised he will not get better. My heart is absolutely breaking for his wife and girls.
If you are able to help this family in any way going forward it would be greatly appreciated. There is so much uncertainty in the weeks ahead and any help can ease the burden for Christina and the girls. We will continue to hold them in our hearts and lift them up in prayer.
