Helping the Bray Family Recover

Donation protected

Hello everyone...

This GoFundMe account is to help the Bray family raise the funding needed for medical expenses, traveling expenses, and basic living necessities while they are all recovering. Unfortunately, Conner does not have any medical insurance, and is the sole provider in his growing family. Anything you can give helps! We are trying to raise at least $50,000 to aid the Bray family during an extremely difficult time in their lives, so any help you can give will go a long way!

BACKGROUND
On Sunday, April 11, 2021, the Bray family was traveling back to Lake Charles from visiting family in the Houston area when their lives were completely stopped for a moment in time. During that moment, they had a horrific car accident that sent all four of them to the hospital. Conner was life flighted to a hospital in Houston due the severity of his injuries. Hannah, Levi, and Elijah (Tuck-Tuck) were taken by ambulance to a different hospital. Later that evening, Hannah and Levi were transferred to the same hospital that Conner was flown to. Elijah (Tuck Tuck) was spared from any major injuries-Thank You Jesus! At the moment, he is being taken care by family due to the severity of injuries his parents have endured.

Hannah has a laceration on her spleen, has been severely bruised on the left  side of her body, has several bruised ribs, and hurting extremely bad due to the fact that she is pregnant and cannot take much for the pain.  As of right now, she is emotionally and physically in turmoil. Her body hurts so much that she can barely walk, and she is separated from her kids and husband which is making it extremely hard for her to focus on her own recovery.  Baby Lawson is okay but she will have to be followed by physicians more closely than before due to the risk of premature labor from the impact that she took to the left side of her body. Hannah is a very strong mama that has experienced something no mother should ever have to go through. Her family is split up, and she is having to try to choose which place to be to take care of all of them. She needs lots of prayers and support more than anything right now so that she can recover and return to being the excellent mama and wife that she is.

Little Levi (5years old) fractured his arm, femur, and tibia. There is a laceration on his back that has a drain tube, his feet are cut in several places, and he is having a very hard time processing this emotionally. He had one surgery to place rods into his leg, and will have to have another one to have the rods removed once his femur heals. In addition to the surgeries,  he will have to have an extensive amount of various therapies and medical care to help him with walking, running, and being the mud-ridin’, deer huntin’,  fun-loving,  energetic, country boy that is loved by everyone who meets him.

Conner definitely had the worst of it all as their truck hit on the driver side. The shifting of the truck basically crushed him from the waste down. He has a pelvic fracture, several facial fractures, and a severe cut on his  eye. He has had one surgery to place rods in his hips and legs. He will have to endure numerous reconstructive surgeries on both of his legs and face before he will even be released from the hospital. He is currently in the ICU and will remain there for a  while. The doctors have stated that Conner will not walk for at least 4-6 months but it’s going to take 1-2 years for him to recover because his injuries are so severe. Conner is  the most awesome son, father, and husband that does everything in his power to provide for his growing family and anyone around him that needs help. At this point in time, he needs every bit of emotional, physical, mental, and financial support  that he can get from everyone so that he can recover from this terrible accident.

Right now, there is no way to know when or if Conner will be able to return to work. The only option they have is short term disability which is ok, but as most of us know this will not be enough with home and medical bills quickly piling up. As you can imagine, this not an easy decision to make, but with their OK, I’m asking you to please consider helping offset some of the enormous debt that they are in with more on the way.

There isn’t anything that the Bray family wouldn’t do to help family, friends, or even strangers. They always stand ready without hesitation to lend a helping hand. Now is our time to help them! Please if you have any questions or concerns, message Jessica Plunk on Facebook.
