Helping Beatriz Santiago and family rebuild

Hello, my name is Karen Barker and through the Maurice Lucas Foundation, I am a mentor, coach, teacher and friend to Beatriz Santiago. Two days ago the Santiago family lost their entire home and contents to an early morning fire. Fortunately they all got out safely, but left with nothing.

Beatriz graduated high school this year, with honors, and has plans to attend Portland State University in the fall. Her dream is to study to become a social worker. I pray that this devastation doesn't hinder this life long dream.

I am starting this fundraiser in the hopes of helping the family with some essential needs, such as clothing, furniture, kitchen utensils and any and everything that can get them back on their feet. As you can imagine this is an emotional roller coaster ride and will be for some time coming. Any amount will help them move forward.
