Hello. My name is Cora Dircks and I am organizing this fundraiser to the benefit of a neighbor we all share- Morgan Austin.

Morgan and her family reside in the Lakeshire subdivision nestled between the marina and the state park. As many of you are aware, a tragic motorcycle accident occurred Friday morning at the bend in front of the Tiki Resort, where Lone Valley meets Robin Road. Tragically, Taylor Austin lost his life in that crash at just 32 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Morgan and their 3 young boys ages 2, 5 and 7.

Many of you will likely recognize Morgan from her Realty signage, or perhaps Taylor performed HVAC work in your home. They attended regular services at 3 Trees church and you could often spot them at community events.

Sadly, Taylor did not have life insurance. Thanks to the generosity of their close friends and family, they were able to raise the funds necessary to lay him to rest this morning, August 14, in his hometown of Glasgow.

Dealing with the sudden, unexpected loss of a husband and father is certainly the heaviest burden, but the reality of losing a household’s primary source of income cannot go ignored. Having to grapple with financial insecurity while grief is still so heavy is unimaginable.

There is nothing anyone can do to give those sweet boys back their daddy. But there is something we can do to keep them from having to face losing their home as well.

And so I put it to all of us to come together and support Morgan and her boys. Let’s show her that God is present, and that the neighbors around her are here to help carry the load. Let this be a moment where our community shines — and we can stop this tragedy from taking any more than it has already.
