Hi everyone,

My name is Lisa, and I’m a close friend of Teresa and Rob Kopf. I’m reaching out because they are facing an incredibly difficult time and could use the support of their community.

Teresa was diagnosed with cancer in April 2024 and has faced every step of this journey with remarkable strength and courage. Teresa is not only a dear friend, but a passionate advocate for people with disabilities who has spent the past 15 years working as an Educational Assistant with the Department of Education, supporting students with patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

Recently, Teresa and Rob received the heartbreaking news that treatment options have been exhausted. Their focus now is on spending as much meaningful time together as possible.

Rob has stepped away from work so he can be by Teresa’s side and care for her during this time. While there is some support available through the Canadian Caregiver Benefit, it only provides a small amount of assistance and will eventually run out. Like many families facing serious illness, the financial pressures quickly add up.

This fundraiser is simply to help ease that burden so Teresa and Rob can focus on what matters most — being together.

Funds raised will help support everyday living expenses while Rob is away from work and allow them to focus on care, comfort, and time together during this incredibly difficult period.
