Helping Teacher Ermeson

I'm sorry for the long message and I would like to say Thank You in advance for taking some time to read this.

"I've been avoiding to take this action, but unfortunately I can't bare it no longer"

As you might know, times are tough right now. Down here some schools are indeterminately closed, some stopped paying teachers; others are firing professionals and there are even those closing the school business for good.

I am a very passionate educator, and people that know me know that. I'm a graduate of Fine arts and have been teaching visual arts for more than 13 years. The pay has never been the best, but was enough to pay the monthly bills. The greatest part of my job however, is about the experiences, the connections and the feeling of being a part of some else’s life.

Living in Sao Paulo I had the opportunity to fully embrace that career and aside of that I also started to hold private English classes for an extra income which helped cover part of my college studies payments, some travels, helping some family members in need and also a personal emergency savings fund for times like this. But life, as we all now know, always has unexpected surprises, and in my case, one happened right before this pandemic situation started. To save time and maintain privacy I don't want to go further in this matter, but making a long story short, I had to use 70% of my savings on a family health emergency (which was totally worth it and I have no regrets for it).

Like I said, some schools are firing professionals and unfortunately Visual Arts teachers are on the front line of the dismissal procedures. Right now I am trying to keep up with the basic expenses with only my private English classes which is starting to become a nightmare - even though I'm offering online services - as part of my students are having thoughts about cancelling the program due to their own financial issues during this crisis - which is understandable..

I've been trying to avoid taking this action, but unfortunately I can't bear it any longer. So, on the verge of having to pack up and move back to my hometown to live with my mom, I am humbly asking for some help. Once again I know that times are tough but if you can contribute with donations or sharing this with friends I would very much appreciate it.

As a visual artist (Minho) I'm working on a Minho's original digital graphic illustration that you can print it out and proudly hang in your wall as a Thank you.

Keep safe.
Stay home.
Thank you for your time.

Best wishes.
