Hi everyone, my name is Jill, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my cousins Ken and Taylor, who are facing an incredibly difficult and frightening time.
Taylor is currently in the hospital recovering from myocarditis, pneumonia, and hepatitis. What first looked like a simple illness escalated suddenly, and she has been very, very sick while doctors work to stabilize her and understand the full picture of what is happening.
Taylor is only in her 30s. She is a devoted mom to six year old son Barrett, 15-month-old Braeya and their daughter Briar who they lost in 2018: who remains a cherished part of their family. Taylor is deeply loved by her entire family.
Why this fundraiser is so important
Taylor does not qualify for Employment Insurance(EI) because she has been home caring for Baby Braeya during maternity leave. This medical emergency has hit at a time when she has no income support at all, and recovery is expected to take time.
This means the family is facing:
• No EI income to rely on
• A sudden medical crisis with major financial strain
• Costs of medications, supplies, and follow-up care
• Travel to and from the hospital
• Two young children needing care and stability
Ken is doing everything he can — caring for the kids, keeping the home running, and being at the hospital when possible — but the financial pressure is already heavy.
Taylor is a pillar of the Apsley community:
One thing many people may not know is that Taylor is the administrator of Apsley’s only accredited daycare. She is a community leader who supports local families every single day. Parents trust her with their children, and she gives so much of herself to keep the daycare running smoothly and safely.
She has poured her heart into serving Apsley’s families.
Now, she is the one who needs help from the community she has supported.
How your support will help:
Your donations will go directly toward:
• Replacing the income Taylor is losing during recovery
• Medications or follow-up treatments not fully covered
• Travel expenses for hospital visits
• Childcare support while Taylor cannot lift or care for the baby
• Groceries, bills, and household essentials
• Any unexpected costs that arise while she heals
Every contribution removes a bit of stress from a family already carrying more than they can handle.
Thank you
Whether you donate, share this page, or keep Ken, Taylor, and the kids in your thoughts and prayers, your support means the world to all of us.
Your kindness gives this young family strength during one of the hardest seasons of their lives — and helps Taylor focus on what matters most: healing and coming home to the children and community who love her.
With immense gratitude,
Jill
