Helping Tayah Gain Independence!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Charlotte and I’m Tayah’s mum.
I’m hoping to raise money to fund some a TinyTrax electric wheelchair.
Although Tayah can move around the house by crawling, she doesn’t meet the NHS criteria for an electric wheelchair. This means that without fundraising, her ability to explore the world independently — especially outdoors — will be very limited.
Tayah currently has a Wizzybug on loan from Designability until the end of the year. By then, she will most likely have outgrown it, and without alternative equipment, her outdoor independence will sadly be gone.
I have applied to a charity for help with this equipment, but they are inundated with applications and waiting times are very long. If we can raise the money ourselves, it will not only help Tayah sooner but also ease some of the strain on these amazing charities.
A Little Glimpse Into Tayah’s Journey
It became apparent very early on that Tayah was having difficulties. She experienced feeding issues, low muscle tone, and jaundice shortly after birth.
At just four days old, I noticed Tayah’s leg was swollen. After numerous X-rays, we discovered that both of her femurs were fractured. Blood tests were taken for genetic testing, and Tayah spent the first five weeks of her life in hospital, undergoing endless tests.
At 18 days old, Tayah had an NG tube placed as she was losing weight, struggling to swallow, and unable to breathe properly while feeding.
When Tayah was nine weeks old, we travelled to GOSH, where she was diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder — two duplications and one deletion, all on chromosome 20. In the same week, she was also diagnosed with bilateral partial vocal cord paralysis and laryngomalacia, which were the root cause of her feeding difficulties.
Although Tayah’s vocal cords have since started working, she continues to struggle with feeding and has been PEG-fed for just over a year. Her oral intake is very limited due to choking and vomiting.
Tayah has a range of ongoing challenges, including:
• Visual impairment
• Global developmental delay
• Non-verbal communication
• Leg length discrepancy
• Recurrent respiratory infections
• Mild scoliosis
• Hypotonia
Despite everything she faces, Tayah is an incredibly happy, strong, and determined little girl who brings so much joy to everyone around her.
Our Fundraising Challenge
Myself and a group of friends will be walking up Mount Snowdon to raise money for Tayah. On the 7th June 2026.

Every donation, share, and kind word means the world to us and helps give Tayah the independence, safety, and opportunities she deserves.

We may not be able to move mountains for you, princess — but we sure can climb them. ️
