Hi friends and family,
As many of you know, I was injured playing in my adult flag football league and the MRI confirmed the worst. I tore multiple ligaments in my knee, including my ACL, and will need a major reconstruction surgery on October 2nd. Unfortunately the timing is not the greatest, I turn 26 in October, which means I’ll be losing my insurance coverage under my dad’s plan, and I’m currently in graduate school for Occupational Therapy. Balancing school, recovery, and medical expenses all at once feels overwhelming, but I’m doing my best to stay positive and focused on healing.
The surgery will take 5–6 hours, followed by at least 6 weeks non-weight bearing, months of physical therapy, and a year-long recovery. Because of this, I won’t be able to work my nanny job for the foreseeable future, and the medical expenses for surgery, rehab, medications, and living costs are adding up quickly.
I’ve gone back and forth about setting this up, because I know there are so many people in the world who need help. But several friends encouraged me to share, so I’m humbly asking for support during this difficult season. If you’d like to contribute, it would mean more than I can say. And if you can’t, your love, encouragement, and simply being there for me means just as much. I can’t thank you enough for helping me through this.
Thank you for walking alongside me in this. I truly couldn’t get through it without my community.
With gratitude,
Tanlee
