Talon is our sweet bright eyed, spunky 4 year old. When Talon was 18 months old we began to see him regress and go from speaking words to not speaking at all. He began to fixate on things and wouldn't look at us, when he previously would play and interact with us as we would sing his favorite songs..... When Talon was 3 we finally were able to have him diagnosed with a thorough evaluation, which took time, there's waiting lists for everything. He was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder- Level 3 requiring substantial amount of supports. We are currently enrolled in ABA therapy to help him, but due to me not being able to work and take him back and forth to Gainesville everyday, our income is pretty limited. My husband works full time and we're in the process of selling our house, so any other treatments aren't in the "budget". Which is why I've put my pride aside, and am here... to ask for help. Talon is showing so many signs of wanting to speak and interact again with us, but something is holding him back that we won't to help him move past. I've researched treatments and there are two that show so much promise and are why we're here. There has been a lot of research conducted to show neurological improvements with children who have Autism, with Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments. The second treatment would be a Microbiota Transplant. (It's a fancy word, for fecal transplant, I know disgusting, but hear me out please....) Many studies have found that there is a connection between gut health and autism. After many tests, we know Talon's gut is not in check. He has an abundance of yeast overgrowth in his digestive track and it's not responded greatly to medications we've previously tried. It takes a healthy sample and transfers to his digestive track to help him rebuild. These treatments could potentially wake Talon's brain up and help him to communicate and interact with the world around him again. They would help my his future hopefully look a little more independent as well.
