Helping Suzanna and India
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Monique, and this is my friend Suzanna and her daughter India. I am doing this GoFundMe in the hope of helping Suzanna and her small family get out of their financial difficulty. We are on day eight and so far, it's been going great guns. We plan to wrap up this appeal in three days. So if 25 people gave £20, we would meet our target of £4, 000.
Suzanna is a Buddhist friend and a single mum. She works as an online secondary school teacher and also home educates eight-year-old India. She has a busy life, working as much as she can and normally just about makes ends meet. She often Airbnb’s her one-bedroom flat in Brighton when she can while staying in her campervan to bring in extra money.
However, with the rising costs of everything, her finances have become very tight, and a recent £5,000 bill for repairs to her building and the need for a new boiler are expenses that she cannot stretch to.
She lives very frugally, mostly in her camper van these days, over the summer months. Even so, it’s impossible to put away any extra money for emergencies and expenses. There's no buffer or savings. She has applied for a government grant for the boiler but has had no success. She has had no luck getting a loan but would struggle to pay it back anyway. On top of this, recently, she lost her teaching job due to staff cuts.
Those of you that know Suzanna know she is a loving and devoted Mum and a hard worker. She puts a lot of herself into helping teach students from disadvantaged backgrounds, those excluded from school, and those who live in care or have a difficult time in the school system. It would be great if we could help her to get back on track again so that she can focus on her work, finding a new job and being a mother instead of feeling worried, stressed and constantly overwhelmed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you feel drawn to do so, please donate to this fund to help Suzanna and India in this difficult time.
Many thanks!
