Our dear friend Susie is an amazing mother to her 4 beautiful children (2 of which her and I were pregnant at the same time), a devoted partner, and the heart behind Sizzlin’ Susie’s, her beloved food truck that brings delicious meals and joy to our community every day.

Yesterday (August 27th 2025) , Susie and Matthew experienced the unthinkable — the loss of their baby girl, Penelope Kaye, who was born at just 18 weeks and lived for a brief two hours in her parents’ arms. Their family is now facing the unimaginable grief and the difficult road of healing, which requires Susie to take time off from her business. Many of you know I unfortunately have lived through very similar pain after losing my daughter in 2017 so of course I am wanted to help every way possible!!!!

Running Sizzlin’ Susie’s is their livelihood and only source of income currently so taking the much needed time to recover while grieving is something they simply cannot financially afford. That’s why we, her community, can step in.
