My name is Mary Warrior. If you've found your way here, then you must know my dearest Aunt, Susan Orr. To know Susan is to love Susan. She is probably one of the kindest people I've ever met, with the absolute softest heart.
On Sunday, January 18th, 2026, Susan's home of over 44 years tragically caught fire. It is highly likely that the house is a total loss. We are beyond thankful that she made it out safely, with her sweet pup Miley. Unfortunately, she made it out with only the clothes on her back and nothing else. As my dear cousin (Susan's daughter) Lindsay said, "Things and stuff can be replaced, just so very thankful she is okay."
Susan has a long journey ahead of her, and we all know that there are a LOT of people who love her, both local and long distance. I was asked by Lindsay to create this GoFundMe as a way for Susan's loved ones, near and far, to be able to support her. Right now, we have no idea how long this journey will be, and the next steps are largely unknown. However, we know there will be a LOT of things she will need over time. And this is a way for folks to provide support to her in whatever monetary way you can.
If you would like to send Susan a card, please reach out to me or Lindsay so we can provide a mailing address to you.
For now, I would like to say a massive thank you to the DoorDash driver who spotted the fire and called 9-1-1, to Susan's neighbor who called Lindsay, to the Mandinas who showed up almost immediately to provide moral support while this was happening, to Kenny and Penny for providing moral support, to the Blue Springs community who is rallying around her, and to the fire department for getting things under control as quickly as possible.
We know she will get through this with the love and support of everyone.
