Supporting little Hunter through his brain surgery recovery
Donation protected
With a heavy heart I am sharing the devastating news that has impacted a member of our work family. This past week, Terry & Serena Isaac took their 2 year old son, Hunter, to emergency as he had not been feeling well. When the test results came back, no parent can prepare for the news that their son has a tumour in his brain. Hunter was immediately flown to the children’s hospital in Vancouver and after more tests, they discovered that their son is very sick with an aggressive tumor behind his eye that is putting pressure on his brain.
Hunter has undergone an emergency surgery to remove a piece of the tumour and to relieve the pressure on his skull, subsequently after the surgery he suffered a stroke and has endured a setback. From the stroke, Hunter has lost feeling in his left arm & hand. They know the stroke also has affected his left leg but do not know yet to what extent. Hunter has undergone a 2nd surgery in hopes of taken more of the tumour out, however, that was not possible as the rest of the tumour is mixed within delicate arteries and poses more risk. The next few days are crucial as this type of surgery can cause extensive swelling to the brain and must be closely monitored.
This family has a difficult road ahead as Hunter’s recovery will be a long, extensive process. Terry, Serena and sister, Nataliya, are by Hunter’s side as he heals from his surgeries and they desperately await the lab results to find out more about the tumour and the treatment plan.
Right now, as a family, their focus and energy is to fight alongside their son and give him the love and healing support he desperately needs. As a community we would like to relieve the financial burden off their plate to insure all their energy is focused on their son’s recovery, not financial stress.
We sincerely ask for your financial support to assist this family, and relieve some of the financial burden this difficult journey will take them on.
We are grateful for your prayers, positive thoughts and generosity.
