Dear friends and Family,
For the past 6 months my brother, Pete, has not been feeling well. Everything came to a head about a month ago when he went to the hospital and asked to have a full body scan.
The scan showed a very large mass on one of his kidneys. For the past several weeks he has had various tests and last week a biopsy on his kidney.
The biopsy was to determine if the mass is cancerous and if so how aggressive. The results came back today inconclusive on the type of cancer, but they do believe it is slow moving. It also showed that 80%+ of his kidney was consumed by the mass.
The doctors want to remove his kidney and a lymph node that sits right next to his kidney. This one lymph node is very swollen and it is unknown if the cancer has spread outside of his kidney. The doctors are hoping that they will be able to do more tests once the lymph node is removed.
As you all can imagine, this past month has been very stressful and scary. Pete still has a long journey ahead and will have a 6 week recovery after his kidney is removed. For those that know Pete, asking for help does not come easy. Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help. If you are able to donate, I know that it will be greatly appreciated and will help lift some of the financial stress.
All money raised will go towards medical bills and also to help assist his family while he is unable to work.
