Helping strays on the streets

I have been rescuing cats off the streets for a long time. I belong to TRP, a feral cat TNR rescue, and work hard to help feral cats in many communities. Unfortunately, the homeless cat population is rapidly growing and I am not able to afford the food and medical care for these helpless little souls. In all my years I  have never seen it so bad. Shelters are at capacity which makes it more difficult to pick them up when they don't have a place to go.

I have picked up pregnant cats and found friends to help care for mama and babies until there is room at the shelter. I have had so many spayed and neutered but can no longer do this alone. I could really use the help.

The shelters are asking for people to foster, to make room, and take more in. A lot of cats that are out there have been dumped or put out because owners can't get them to overcrowded facilities. I have also picked up several dogs and brought them to our Animal Control Facilities, they are also full at times.

I am currently taking care of approximately 40 cats outside in three different areas, this includes little babies. I have taken a lot to a shelter, but many are still waiting to be helped. The only thing I can do at this point is continue to provide fresh water and food twice daily.
