Hello, my name is Brandi Dittmer, life long friend of Stephanie Rhoads.

On the night of June 25th, 2022 Stephanie and Jonathan had the unimaginable happen to them. A fire started in their home while Jonathan was away on vacation with friends and Stephanie was working in her garage. Due to the location of her home, by the time that the fire department arrived, the damage was severe enough that it was unhabitable. The next day the fire reignited and the structure was a total loss following that. Including everything inside such as personal items.

Stephanie did have insurance but after final review, it has been determined that there is much more damage then coverage.

They have discovered many layers to this home upon completely gutting it due to the asbestos. There was a previous owner that had done contract work on this home and it isn’t up to code. Both the plumbing and the electrical will need to be done correctly for construction to move forward. This isn’t fully covered by insurance.

She has removed all the siding herself to help reduce costs however she just can’t do it all alone.

Stephanie grew up in New Virginia, Iowa and graduated in Osceola in 1997. Leaving for the US Army following graduation. She is a 21 plus year Military Veteran. Stephanie has retired recently and moved back to Iowa to what she knew as home for her son Jonathan. She wanted him to have roots and a place to call home.

She has been deployed 6 times in her career, including Bosnia 2 times and Iraq 4 times resulting in Stephanie being a fully disabled Veteran.

Stephanie will not ask for help as she can normally do this on her own, this task has proven to be more then she can take on herself.
