Helping Skylar Fight Stage 4 Neuroblastoma
Spende geschützt
Dear friends and kind-hearted individuals,
We write to you today with a heavy heart to share Skylar's brave battle against stage 4 neuroblastoma. Skylar is an energetic and loving, princess-loving little girl who has been recently diagnosed with this rare childhood cancer at the tender age of 2. As if that wasn't enough, she has also been diagnosed with cystic dysplasia, a condition that has affected the development of her kidneys.
Neuroblastoma is a highly aggressive and challenging cancer that primarily affects children aged 1-5 years old. It develops from specialized nerve cells, called neuroblasts, and can spread throughout the body, including the bones, lymph nodes, and bone marrow. The journey ahead for Skylar is going to be long and arduous, filled with intense treatment and numerous hurdles to overcome.
Treatment: Skylar's treatment begins on Thursday, September 7th, with an intensive chemotherapy regimen that is expected to last for a grueling 18 months. This challenging and costly treatment plan aims to shrink the tumor, reduce the cancer's spread, and give her the best chance at a full recovery. In addition to chemotherapy, she may require additional treatments which we remain uncertain about at this time.
Statistics: Neuroblastoma is a rare disease, affecting approximately 700 children in the United States each year. Unfortunately, the majority of these cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, like Skylar's. The survival rate for high-risk neuroblastoma is only around 50%, and the road to recovery is often filled with setbacks and complications. Our collective support is crucial to ensuring Skylar receives the best possible care and improves her chances of overcoming this devastating disease.
Lauren and Jason, Skylar's loving parents, are two exceptional individuals who have dedicated their lives to making a positive impact in the lives of others. Jason, a self-employed fitness professional, has dedicated his career to helping children with disabilities and special needs find joy through physical fitness. Lauren, on the other hand, has selflessly worked in various healthcare industries, including mental health and skilled nursing facilities. Their resilience, compassion, and unwavering love for Skylar are truly remarkable. Their dedication to serving others and being there for the people they love is a steadfast quality. Now, it is our time to show them that live and support in return.
Now is the time for us to rally together and provide Skylar, Lauren, and Jason with the support they need to face the challenges ahead. Their spirit remains unbreakable, but the financial burden of medical bills and additional expenses is overwhelming. Every dollar donated will go directly towards funding Skylar's treatments, medications, doctor's visits, and any other necessary support services. Please join us in spreading awareness and rallying behind this wonderful family. Together, we can make a tangible difference and offer them hope and strength during this difficult journey. Your generosity, prayers, and positive thoughts will be deeply appreciated. Thank you for being the helping hands that Skylar and her family need right now. Together, let's fight against neuroblastoma and show them that they are not alone in this battle.
With heartfelt gratitude, Skylar’s Support Team
