My daughter walked into hospital with a sore back… and 8 months later, she still hasn’t come home.

On August 25, my beautiful 17-year-old daughter Skye lost feeling in her toes. Within weeks, she became completely paralysed from the waist down.

Today, she remains in hospital — undiagnosed, in constant pain, unable to stand, sit, or live the life every teenager deserves…. She lies flat on her back or side 24 hours a day.

She now relies on a catheter, daily medication, and exhausting physio sessions, all while holding onto hope that one day she may walk again.

The hardest part is we still don’t have answers.

Skye should be playing basketball, getting her licence, laughing with friends and planning her future. Instead, she spent her 17th birthday in a hospital bed.

But even through unimaginable pain, she still smiles. She still fights. She still finds ways to brighten other people’s days.

As a single mum, I will do absolutely anything to help my daughter get her life back — but I can’t do this alone anymore.

We are raising funds to help bring Skye home safely through intensive rehabilitation, medical care, mobility equipment, in-home support, and a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
