Hey Everyone,
First thing I to say is that no one, regardless how close to me, is obligated to donate. I love you all the same regardless.
For those that know me, I typically don’t ask for help. I’m usually the one trying to help, but things are changing and there is a bigger cause for this.
Very few of you know much about my childhood, And that’s ok, I keep it close to my heart. Part of this is trying to bring awareness to Mental health, childhood abuse, the affects it has on everyone and anyone. My siblings and I have had a pretty terrible childhood, and witness some pretty messed up things.
If you witness or are unfortunately involved in these situations, you aren’t alone and it’s not ok and you should reach out to someone, anyone! I’ll always help if you reach out to me.
The other part of this is that because of a lot of those traumas and way too many other things to list here, my life has made some pretty dramatic changes in the last several years. Leading to a lot of Mental Health issues.
In the darkest part of my Depression, I got this incredible little pup to fill a lot of empty space in my life, his name is Odin. I gave him a gods name because he had to be almighty for me.
As part of this, my healthcare team has partnered me with a not for profit service dog program. Lucky for me I already have Odin and he was already naturally changing my mental health direction to be less of a spiral.
As part of my Healthcare providers recommending a service dog, I was connected to a non-profit called California Service Dog Academy.
They require a donation of $5000 or more to enter Odin into the program.
This program will get him all his legal service dog credentials and testing.
More than that, the Donated money goes to other service dog fees. The most important being for Service Dogs raised by California Service Dog Academy from birth to be guide dogs for the blind and other more critical differences(aka disabilities).
The donations will go to the animals care, the trainers that work so hard and are dedicated to helping people needing the assistance of a lovely animal.
Literally even $1 helps so please donate, and most importantly let’s share this. The more people this reaches, the more we can help the people that cannot afford their own service animal but are in dire need of one.
Odin wanted to share his thoughts on what will make him a great service dog.
Hi my Name is Odin,
I've been my hoomans guardian since I adopted him. I want to keep protecting my hooman but he lost his job and needs help to finish paying for my service dog training so I can keep keeping him safe.
My hoomans name is Ben if I wasn't there he would stay in bed all day being sad, so I like to cheer him up and drag him out of bed to play with me.
I keep Ben safe when he gets sensory overload in loud busy places by grounding him during the overload and if I don't take his focus away from it he could have a panic attack.
He gets nervous and shuts down in public so I like to make sure I'm super close to brace him if he falls, and I cuddle him until I hear his heart slowing down.
My hooman told me about the long list of traumatic events that shaped him this way and I just want him to be happy and safe. So I make sure to play lots outside, I like to keep people at a distance from him and obviously lots of cuddles so I can keep track of his heart rate.
