We hope your holidays were merry. We had a wonderful Christmas followed by a tragedy. On Dec. 27 at 10 am, an Escalade drove into my in-laws' house in Anniston, Alabama; directly into the room they were occupying. Jackie is 75 and Danny is 78. Danny took the brunt of the impact sitting in the broken recliner and was stuck under the Escalade for 30+ minutes before firemen could get him out and loaded into the ambulance. Danny has broken ribs and his arm is shattered. Jackie was thrown against a wall and both are in the hospital and will be transferred to inpatient rehab for at least 30 days. Jackie is in the hospital in Anniston, while Danny had to be taken to the trauma unit at Huntsville Hospital. Their son was also in the room but uninjured. The house is uninhabitable and will be for the foreseeable future. Any funds raised will be used for the many out-of-pocket expenses they are incurring due to this Christmas tragedy. All funds will go directly to Danny and Jackie out of pocket recovery expenses ~
