Helping Scott Frerking with medical bills

After many tests and almost a week in the hospital our dad is home, but still recovering from cellulitis. This is a bad bacterial infection that usually enters your system through a cut in the skin. My dad didn’t have any cuts and ended up being misdiagnosed with gout.

After a week with “gout” and two additional doctors appointments he needed to be admitted to the hospital by the time they got it figured out.

Once admitted, he received strong intravenous (IV) antibiotics. His foot was extremely swollen, redness all around, fever and in so much pain. I had a hard time knowing if he was getting better or not and headed that way Thursday, January 24th.

When I got there it was so hard to see him like this. He was needing pain meds around the clock, had the hardest time putting any pressure on his foot or walking.

During his hospital stay his progress was SLOW. It was hard to tell in person if he was getting any better. Each morning they would say “another day” and he was worried about the cost! It’s fine dad, we JUST NEED YOU BETTER! He’s finally to a point where oral antibiotics should knock the rest of the infection out. He has another appointment this Friday to see how it’s looking.

I’ve had a few messages from friends/family that know my dads situation and want to help ease some of the stress on what’s to come financially. I wasn’t planning on setting anything up, but have decided if friends and family are asking to help my dad during this hard time, I should get this set something up.
