Helping Scott and Denise - Furnace Breakdown

Hello, My name is Nate Perkins-Fields. Many of you know that my father, Scott Fields, was diagnosed with cancer this year. He has been receiving treatments to gain more time.

My mother, Denise Perkins-Fields has been doing everything she can to get him what he needs. Bringing him to medical appointments, advocating for him, sharing information with family, and taking care of him while he is home.

Already there have been many people who have reached out to help, whether its to bring meals by, family members who helped to build a wheelchair ramp, friends who have stepped up on projects, among countless other things. They appreciate everything everyone has done (my mom loves to share on Facebook what they've been thankful for, and gets to thank everyone for their kindness and help.)

This week, their furnace started having issues. It started with it running poorly, and resulted in a visit from a repairman who found it will need to be replaced, and cannot run in the mean time. We have set them up with a few space heaters until it can be replaced to keep them warm.

As many of you know, a furnace is expensive. In the past year they have already had to replace a number of expensive things on their house, and this was an unexpected event on top of the accruing medical bills. (And the rising cost of EVERYTHING that we are all are dealing with.)

I am making this GoFundMe to help them in affording the furnace to keep them warm for the winter, and have one less thing to worry about while they go through these tough times.

Please consider donating if you can. One thing I am reminded of often is the willingness my parents have had all their life to help others, with no concern of reciprocation. If they could help someone they would do their best, and I am hopeful that they can receive help now when they need it.
