Hey all! Well here I am again, Scullys Noni! As most of you know, last year Scully moved to Arizona & his new home with Momma Shannon & the kids from New York. He has been doing amazing & loving his sun filled river life thanks to all of you! Unfortunately that changed about 7 weeks ago with a cough. After visiting the vet & trying meds multiple times he was tested for Valley Fever, this came back negative, but he still wasnt getting better. After another 3 weeks of different medications he was still getting worse. It was found that he has a significant amount of fluid in his lungs, he was hospitalized & started on diuretics to remove the fluid. He responded well & was able to come home. While we are happy to see this progress we are dealing with another issue, he won't eat. We have tried everything & it has been recommended that he be transferred to a hospital in Orange county for more testing & treatment. Although Im in in the veterinary field & have some great connections to get him the help he needs we just don't have the amount of money we need to get the additional tests done & his care in the hospital while he recovers. We are asking once again if we can ask for your help getting him the funds he needs to get better. The amount I have posted is high, but the initial tests ( ultrasound of his heart & abdomen) run about $1000 & he will need to be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days minimum at $500+ per day...it adds up quick! I have made arrangements for him to be admitted & treated at Bristol Baker Animal Hospital in Costa Mesa. My dear friend & former colleague Dr Kumar has been so kind as to make the arrangements for his tests & care..I couldnt be more grateful, since most ultrasound sounds take up to 6 weeks to schedule because of demand this is huge we can have it done in days, it is scheduled for this Monday. I am also working on transportation for him from Arizona to California as Shannon isn't able to take him this week I am looking to hire someone to bring him to me..another expense, gas! I know that Scully has so much Love & Support from everyone & we appreciate all the prayers that have gotten him this far! We hope that we can count on that support from you once again to help him continue living the happy, healthy life he deserves.
