Hello!

My beloved cat and friend Monty is everything to me and so many.

If any of you have met him, you know just how special he is.

On Sunday, the 22nd, I knew something wasn't quite right with Monty, so I immediately rushed him to our nearest 24/7 Animal Hospital to learn he had a major urinary block which, when caught early, is treatable by an overnight catheter placement. I thought that would be the end of his struggles, but it was just the beginning of a week-long struggle for his life.

Monty has numerous kidney stones preventing him from urinating on his own. He's now been to multiple different emergency animal hospitals and is currently at MarQueen Pet Emergency awaiting an extensive perineal urethrostomy (UP) surgery where his urethra will be reshaped to allow the stones to pass and Monty to urinate on his own.

Unfortunately, there's further complications for Monty which now require him to have a feeding tube inserted through his nose to allow his body to build up enough strength to survive the risky operation. He also needs antibiotics to reduce swelling all while under the care of the costly hospital time. Every day he waits, his red blood cell count drops.

I've unfortunately already put myself in more debt than I can pay back in years and am maxed out beyond belief on all fronts. Monty is a saint in the form of a cat. The memories I've built with him are too difficult to associate with pain. He's so ready for the procedure to be over and to be back in my arms at home, we just need help to get him there.

I'm asking $3,500 which will cover this latest estimate from the animal hospital. This will cover the next two days of emergency hospital care, IV fluids, feeding tube and antibiotics. If by some chance there is a leftover sum, the funds will go straight into Monty's lengthy post-op care.

There are no words to describe the way I feel about him and the pain this is putting the both of us through. Thank you all so much if you can lend Monty a helping hand. When he makes it out of this, we'll see if we can maybe schedule some couch time with Monty:)
