Helping Sarah & Her Family Recover from Helene's Devastation

Donation protected
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which left a path of destruction across Swannanoa, North Carolina, our friend Sarah and her family have been facing unimaginable challenges. On September 27, 2024 Helene brought unprecedented flooding to their community, transforming every day life into a struggle for survival and recovery.
Sarah, a resilient mother, along with her 11-year-old son, managed to escape the rising waters of the Swannanoa River, but not without loss. Their home, though still standing, suffered significant damage; the HVAC system, electrical wiring, driveway, and crawlspace all require extensive repairs. Currently, they are living without heat as temperatures dip dangerously low (as of 12/3/24, reaching an icy 18°).
Compounding their plight, Sarah's parents lost everything they owned in the flood, and have now had to squeeze into Sarah's two bedroom, one bathroom house, alongside two dogs, making an already difficult situation even more cramped and challenging.
The road to recovery for Sarah and her family is long. They need to restore heat to their home to survive the harsh winter, repair the structural damage to ensure a safe living environment, and rebuild their lives piece by piece.

**WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MEANS**
HEAT - immediate assistance to repair or replace the HVAC system to keep Sarah's family warm during the cold winter months.
HOME REPAIRS - Funds to fix the electrical system, mend the flooded crawl space, and repair the driveway which was washed away by the flood.
BASIC NEEDS - Help with food, clothing, and other essentials since everything was lost in the flood.

**HOW YOU CAN HELP**
Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards restoring warmth, safety, and stability to Sarah's family. Every contribution will make a difference, helping them to heal and rebuild after this natural disaster. Please consider donating to help Sarah and her son find some comfort and start anew amidst the rubble of their previous life. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
