I never imagined our family would be in a place of needing help, but life truly can change in a moment.

Last week, Roger went in for a routine check-up. His doctor immediately sent him to the ER after seeing how dangerously high his vitals were. What we thought would be a quick visit turned into a life-altering journey. In just days, Roger faced heart surgery, dialysis, an upcoming kidney biopsy, and an undoubtedly very long road to recovery.

To make matters more challenging, only two weeks before all this began, Roger was laid off due to company downsizing. While difficult, we’ve come to see it as a blessing in disguise—it was during that time off that Roger first noticed something wasn’t right with his heart.

So many friends and family have reached out asking how they can help. For that, we are endlessly grateful. Monroe is cared for and we thankfully have a freezer/pantry full for now. What we need most now is the space for Roger to focus on healing, adjusting to this new way of life, and not feeling rushed to immediately find work while still weak and recovering. On top of this, the medical bills, treatments, and frequent visits are quickly adding up.

We completely understand times are tough for everyone, so prayers and encouragement mean just as much.
