She has 51 days in the hospital, 18 of those on a ventilator, and is now in rehab. All this since October.  During this time she has missed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. 

 

It all started in October when an infection caused her blood sugar to skyrocket. Putting her in the hospital for four days. During this time she started to bloat, which continued for a few weeks. The bloating started to improve when in November things changed.

 

While the bloating was improving she started to have trouble breathing, followed by a bad headache. So for the second time in less than a month she was in the hospital. This time it was congestive heart failure brought on by the water buildup. After two days she needed to be put on a ventilator. 

 

She spent 15 days on the ventilator before being put on just an oxygen tube. After 27 days in the hospital she was transferred to a nursing home for rehab. She was still in bed without the strength to be mobile at this time. 

 

Roberta barely started rehab when she was back in the hospital with high blood sugar caused from now having pneumonia. When being treated for pneumonia she had an allergic reaction causing her to be put on the ventilator again. Lucky she was only on it 3 days this time. This hospital stay lasted 20 days.  

 

She is currently in rehab building up her strength so she can come home.
