Hello everyone,
My name is Isa McPhail. I am reaching out to you today as a hopeful parent and grandparent on behalf of my daughter, Taylor, and my beautiful 3-year-old grandson, Rip Stevens.
When Rip was born, doctors delivered the most devastating news any family could hear: he had highly complex medical conditions and was terminal. We were told he would never develop complex skills, walk, or talk.
But Rip had other plans.
Rip’s Incredible Progress
Against all medical odds, Rip fights hard every single day. Today, he is walking with support, actively trying to talk, and proving to everyone that he has an immense drive to live, learn, and grow.
Taylor has completely exhausted every support and resource available to them here at home in Nova Scotia. Rip has come so far, but he has the potential to go so much further. We refuse to give up on him.
The Mission: SMILE Therapy in Toronto
We are desperately seeking your help to take Rip to Toronto, Ontario, for a world-renowned, specialized intensive program called SMILE Therapy (Sensory Motor Integrated Learning Experience). This clinic is uniquely designed to help children with highly complex needs unlock new motor, speech, and physical abilities through immersive, intensive therapy models.
We firmly believe this program will help Rip make major, life-altering gains. We want to give him every single chance possible to live his life to the absolute fullest.
Why We Need to Act Right Now
While there is an accessibility fund meant for this specialized program, Rip unfortunately does not meet the specific demographic requirements to qualify for it. Most families spend an entire year fundraising out-of-pocket to afford these intensive blocks.
However, a opening is available for October 2026. Taylor desperately wants Rip to take this spot while his momentum and development are surging. Because we don't have a year to wait, we are pulling every card we have to make this dream a reality for Rip right now.
The Financial Goal
To make this urgent trip happen, we need to raise between $10,000 and $15,000. Because we are traveling from Nova Scotia, 100% of these funds will go directly toward:
• Intensive paediatric therapy session fees.
• Specialized, medical-friendly travel from Nova Scotia to Ontario.
• Accessible accommodations near the clinic for Rip during his intensive block.
How You Can Help
Please consider making a direct donation to our fund. No contribution is too small, and every single dollar goes directly toward giving Rip the chance he truly deserves.
If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this link with your friends, family, and community networks helps us more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, love, and support. Let's help Rip keep defying the odds!
With love and gratitude,
Isa, Taylor, Rip & Family
