At approximately 12:30am Saturday Riley was fine one moment laughing and joking and even showing off his football spinning skills, while standing talking to one boy,  he simply closed his eyes and collapsed, hitting their concrete wall on way down.  He was unconscious and when one of the flat mates Tommy assessed him he had stopped breathing and immediately began cpr (he is a premed student at Purdue and certified and ultimately saved Riley's life). He was able to resuscitate him once and then again and continued to work on him. Police showed up within a few minutes (they are 1 1/2 blocks from Police Department) of this happening and took over until paramedics showed up 3 minutes later. At some point it is known they had to shock him and continue cpr in the ambulance to the hospital.  They then worked on him in the er through several seizures to get him stable and eventually into the icu where he has been ever since.
