On Wednesday the 17th of July, Riley’s parents took him into the urgent care for an acute cough and difficulty breathing and they told them to get him to the ER due to extremely low oxygen saturation. Once at the ER he quickly declined and they intubated him due to little to no lung function and flew him to St Mary’s. After being in the hospital for 5 days with no answers or improvement after many extensive tests they life flighted him to the children’s hospital in the cities. He continues to be intubated due to not being able to breathe on his own. His condition is still a mystery and seemed to come out of nowhere. His parents, Chris and Carrie Surface have not left his side. They also have two other children to care for and would greatly appreciate any help with food, gas and hotel rooms.
