In a single moment, Richelle Lyons, the mother of my wife, Samantha, lost everything.
Her home was destroyed in a devastating fire, leaving nothing behind. Every possession she had, the space she felt safe in, the life she was building, all gone. Tragically, she also lost her two beloved cats in the fire. They were family to her, and the grief of losing them has been overwhelming.
What makes this situation even heavier is that this was not simply a tragic accident. There are circumstances surrounding this event that are deeply traumatic, and while there is an ongoing investigation that prevents us from sharing details right now, we can say this: This experience has left Richelle emotionally shaken, heartbroken, and trying to process layers of loss that go far beyond the physical damage.
Right now, Richelle is starting from nothing. She needs help covering immediate necessities like temporary housing, clothing, food, transportation, and basic living expenses while she works to stabilize and rebuild her life. More than anything, she needs support and time to heal.
If you are able to give, please know that your donation will help Richelle take the first steps toward safety, stability, and recovery during a time no one should have to face alone. If you are not able to give, sharing this fundraiser or keeping her in your thoughts means just as much.
There is more we wish we could explain, and someday we may be able to. For now, we are simply asking for compassion, kindness, and support for Richelle and our family as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
Thank you for caring.
