Hi! Our family seems to be hitting the bad luck tree all the way down. I’m unconventionally turning to others for help. I didn’t want to make this for myself as it’s not easy asking for help, but I feel awful how much of a burden these surgeries can be. My husband is one of the hardest working guys I know, he does everything with not a single complaint, even if he is stressed and this time was no different. His entire face was swollen and I have never seen him in that much pain; he still put me first.
A little back story: Jake and I met in the army and are coming up on 10 years. Over the last 5 years, I have run into some challenges with my health and my body, dealing with chronic pain, Ehlers-Danlos, etc. This has taken a toll on not only me but my family. I just had my 13th surgery a few days ago, and as I’m having surgery at the University of Cincinnati, my husband developed an infection from a cut on his gums.
After dealing with my surgery complications, we had to run my husband to the emergency room where he was cut into, and then turned around and took me back to the emergency department for worsening symptoms. My husband works his ass off for our family and I am hoping this will take some weight off his back from having to take time off, his medical bills, in the middle of our busiest season (back to school, Riley's birthday, sports, etc.). Money will be used for some of Jakes medical bills, bills for the house, and things for the kids to go back to with.
I know me having surgery puts a lot of pressure on him as I can’t do anything, so I’m hoping this will help with his stress. I’m not sure I know ANYONE more deserving of having this weight lifted off his shoulders. Thank you for reading this and considering helping my family.
