Hi! My name is Ginger Hampton, and I am fundraising for my sister Ramona. Those of you who know me know that I will very rarely ask for help. My sister is the same way. In the past two months, she began experiencing a rapid growth that has perplexed doctors. I have taken her to the Emergency Room, to get a biopsy done, to get another mammogram done, to get an ultrasound done, and soon to get an MRI done. The doctor she is currently seeing says she has only experienced this 2 other times, and Ramona's case is extreme, so they are moving rather quickly. The doctor is trying to determine whether this is a phylloid sarcoma or a carcinoma. The tests keep coming back inconclusive due to the incredible amount of fluid build-up. Either way, she is facing multiple surgeries. She is already battling a few other medical issues, but she continues to work to support herself and her daughter, Augustina. Her biggest fear is not being able to take care of Gus and her bills if she has to take off work for very long. She already feels behind because she lost so much time at work during Covid when her place of employment shut down for awhile, and even now, she is not guaranteed full time hours each week. The doctor estimates that she will be down and not able to work for around a month from the first two surgeries she is facing which are tentatively scheduled by the end of this month. They are moving rapidly as her case is pretty extreme. I have no clue what medical bills and costs she is facing, and I know she will be missing work for a bit. I want to ensure that Ramona and Gus are able to at least get by while she is out of commission fighting this battle. I am reaching out to friends, family and any organization who knows the struggle of a single mom trying to take care of her daughter and herself.
