Helping Ramona Feel at Home

Hey all,

Many of you know Ramona from the doors of Berlin's night clubs, or Berlin’s run clubs. Others know them through cycling, orchestras and other musical ensembles.

One thing all these communities have in common is Ramona's commitment to building them. For well over a decade, they've dedicated countless hours to creating safer, more welcoming spaces for the FLINTA community in Berlin, first in nightlife, and later through sport and community organizing.

Many of you also know how difficult it can be to access gender-affirming care in Germany. Even after years of navigating the healthcare system and meeting the requirements for treatment, many trans and non-binary people still face delays, barriers, or gaps in coverage, leaving them to rely on community support to access the care they need.

For Ramona, that moment has finally come.

We're launching this fundraiser to help cover the costs of their gender-affirming top surgery, a life-changing step that will have an enormous impact on their mental health, comfort, and quality of life. This is something they've dreamed of for many years, and we'd love to help make it possible.

Our fundraising goal of €10,000 will help cover:

  • Surgery, anaesthesia, and clinic fees
  • Consultations, prescriptions, and a post-operative compression vest
  • Recovery essentials, including food delivery, household help, and medical supplies
  • Lost freelance income or unpaid leave during approximately 3–6 weeks of recovery

We're launching this GoFundMe for Ramona's birthday, and the campaign will run until the Berlin Mauerweglauf on 15-16 August.

To mark the fundraiser, Ramona will be taking on the Mauerweglauf solo: 160 kilometres around the route of the former Berlin Wall.
Running has been a way for Ramona to rebuild their relationship with their body and overcome dysphoria, making this challenge a fitting way to support this next chapter.

From kilometer 50 onwards, Harriet Davey from Chicane will accompany Ramona by bike, sharing live updates from the run and helping spread the fundraiser throughout the weekend.

Whether you're able to donate, share the campaign, or simply cheer Ramona on from afar, every bit of support means the world.

Thank you for helping make this dream a reality!
