Hi, I'm Quinteina. I'd like to share my story with you. As time goes on, I'll also share my journey. Between Oct. 2018 and June 2019, I lost my mom and my oldest son. Bouncing back from those, seemingly took all I had, but I somehow managed. Just when I thought I was getting it together and the storm clouds were clearing, Sept. 2020 shows up, and it showed up like a whirlwind. While doing a self exam, I found a lump on my right breast. It was a sizeable lump, 4cm I later discovered. I was scheduled to be seen for a mammogram. After whatever was seen on the mammogram, I was reffered to a surgeon. The surgeon did an exam and was hopeful that it would be a cyst, so she scheduled a biopsy. While getting the biopsy, the Dr. told me what he saw. "It's cancer, and I'm telling you so it doesn't get dismissed as something else and you fall through the cracks and it's overlooked". I got the formal diagnosis from my Dr. Nov. 4th 2020 STAGE 3 TRIPLE NEGATIVE BREAST CANCER. Because of my lack of insurance, I was given a letter to take to my local health dept. that would make me eligible for state funded coverage. Well, apparently I made $200.00 too much per month BEFORE TAXES, to qualify. So, all funding would fall in my hands. Then the appointments....PET scan, ultrasounds, CT scans, port placements...and then treatments start. 16 rounds of Chemo, surgery, and then radiation. While trying to figure out payments for medical treatment, I still have to figure out how to maintain a household..mortgage, utilities, transportation expenses, and food. I have decided to reach out for help as the expenses are piling up and treatment has to continue. Chemo has been going well, all things considered. To anyone and all that are able to donate, I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. All donations will go toward treatment. I'll continue to update you on my journey as I know..I WILL WIN!!! Accepting all prayers and encouragement also. I'm trying to find my villiage, so I decided to start here. If you find it in your heart to give, please know I truly appreciate it!!
