Helping Phillip Heal
Donation protected
My name is Dareth Broome, and on behalf of our family, I am starting this Go Fund Me page for my brother, Phillip Alexander. Phillip was severely injured in a car accident in 1995, and since that day, he has been paralyzed from the waist down. Since then, he has lived with his wife and family in Crandall, GA, and like many families, they have had their ups and downs throughout the years. His situation became more well known recently due to media coverage of his current situation. Phillip's wife contacted 911 on June 11, 2017 stating that his blood sugar had dropped and he needed an ambulance. Once the paramedics arrived, they realized they were dealing with much more than low blood sugar. My brother was found to have multiple wounds on his body, but the worst was on his lower back from the bottom of his spine to the back of his legs. His wounds were badly infected, to the point of being bug infested! Needless to say, my brother was in really bad shape. His situation was critical, and we were told me may not survive. Miraculously, he did survive, and he has been in MICU at Hamilton Medical Center for over a week and will require more time in the hospital and continued therapy. He is recovering from his wounds, but he now has a colostomy bag to help rid waste from his body. He is not out of the woods yet, and there are more procedures that may have to be completed. We are waiting now to see if they are going to remove his toes and possibly part of his foot.
Once his hospital stay is over, Phillip will need much help from his family and friends. His wife, who was supposed to be his primary caregiver, is no longer in his life. His family and friends are trying to raise money to get him a small place to live and to buy him the necessities he will need to start a new stage in his life. I assure you that anything you donate to this endeavor will be applied directly toward Phillip's medical care, housing, and household needs. This will be starting over for him because due to neglect, the house he came from is in the process of being condemned. Phillip is a simple man and does not ask for a lot in life. We would like to get him a small clean place to lay his head at night. Out of all the bad going on in his life right now, Phillip has great news to share. He accepted Christ into his life, and he has joy on his face each day, regardless of the difficulties coming his way. He is looking forward to a fresh start in his life, and we believe helping him in this way would be great for his body, mind, and spirit. We appreciate anything you can do to help right now, whether it be a monetary gift or simply praying for this situation. Thank you and God bless!
