Helping Paula and Stanley after job loss

My name is Sarah and I am writing this on behalf of my mother, Paula Rodriguez, who is in desperate need to help our beloved family dog, Stanley.
On March 5th, 2021, Paula gut-wrenchingly lost her job as a paralegal in a rapidly-shrinking field during the COVID-19 pandemic. This job provided her with the stability to pay for basic life necessities: food, gas, and power bills, as well as provide food and medical support for her four-legged "son," Stanley, and most importantly, pay out-of-pocket for medicare for her newfound breast cancer diagnosis.
This was only the beginning of her troubles:
Over the past month, Stanley experienced unexplained neurological issues that made it impossible for him to close his jaw; therefore unable to eat or drink properly without assistance. Paula rushed Stan to the emergency vet, where the was put on a heavy course of steroids and left to be spoon-fed by Paula for the days to come. This week his prognosis grew grim after he was rushed to the emergency veterinarian in Reno, NV.  Paula was informed that Stanley's condition was critical and that she needed to rush him over 160 miles away to a specialist in Sacramento, CA where they may be able to give her answers as to what was ailing him. Currently, he is in stable condition, awaiting tests from specialists from across the state.

Paula is currently staying in a hotel in Sacramento and expects to stay throughout the weekend of March 6th.

Although she has pet insurance, the up-front costs for Paula to have Stanley treated have amassed her over $4,000 in debt. She has dipped into every avenue of savings and credit to be able to cover these bills and needs help keeping her head above water so she can focus on searching for a new job and most importantly, feel financially stable during her ongoing cancer treatments.

I am asking for money to cover Stanley's veterinary bills, as well as the emergency costs of her housing, food, and basic necessities needed to be comfortable while she is hundreds of miles away from home.

Update: March 6th, 2021

Paula has been in contact with the vet staff and they say Stan is stable! They have done a slew of tests and have ruled out cancer. They have not found any foreign objects that could have poisoned him. Paula is relieved that he is doing better, but she still worries about the mystery prognosis.
