Helping Pat Sheppard recover

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Erin Sheppard, I am Pat's daughter-in-law.
On Wednesday, September 3rd, Pat was working on a roof with his son Ken, and a misstep resulted in him falling 7 - 10ft off a roof, on the way down he hit his head on the edge of the roof and then landed on smooth river rocks.
He somehow was able to be mobile after that fall, which is not easy to bounce from in your late 60's. Ken drove him the Boundary Hospital, Pat got assessed, got a C collar on and had to lay flat till he had scans, they chose to transport him by ambulance to KBRH in Trail. He hung out in emerg in between getting CT and MRI's done. Thankfully by some miracle he was not paralyzed.
His injuries consist of:
Concussion
13 stitches in his head in 2 locations
Fractured left wrist and torn muscles that has a cast on it
Fractured L4 (he is not allowed to bend or twist for 6-8 weeks)
Fractured C2 & C3 and has to wear a C collar for 6-8 weeks
A torn artery in between his C2 & C3 so he has to take baby aspirin for a year
Along with some shadowing on his right eye.
Pat has been staying in KBRH since Wednesday and will be there till at least Monday once he has another MRI.
Pat has been apart of and volunteering in the Greenwood/Grandforks community for decades. He is the Deputy Fire Cheif of Greenwood Fire Dept, and ran his own business Sheppard Contracting for many years. Even when he 'retired' at 65 he never stopped working. To this day he cleans the Greenwood Post Office nightly, does garbage pick up weekly for the community, contracting jobs in the community and volunteers as a firefighter answering calls at all hours. Pat is also a husband to his loving wife of 46 years, Linda, father to Becky, Scott, Tim, Ken & Grayson; father-in-law to Jeremy, Deanne, Katie & myself; and his proudest accomplishment being a grandfather to 10 grandchild - Lock, Lexi, Finn, Brayden, Evan, Owen, Elizabeth, Leo, Alex & Tyler. Pat can also be seen driving around with his co-pilot Barney.
Pat and Linda are too proud to ask for help and will always say they don't need it, but they do need it. Things such as money for gas/truck maintaining to get Pat to and from his weekly - bi-weekly physio appts in Grandforks, scans and cast clinic in Trail, to help cover bills as he is unable to work, and for pain medication. If you are able to donate anything, all of it helps, if you are unable, sending a prayer to Pat's recovery will also be greatly appreciated. If your unable to donate but are able to cook or bake something for them, they will also greatly appreciate that. If you would like to etransfer them directly that can also be an option. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
