Helping Owny Chase Her Dreams

This is the story of Owny - our warrior, our light, and the strongest person we know. While we wish we were celebrating a different outcome, we are here today to celebrate the incredible, fiercely positive way Owny is choosing to live every moment she has left.

Owny's journey with cancer began when she was just 16 years old. It was a brutal fight that few young people ever face, involving operations, sacrifice, and uncertainty in a time that is hard enough! Yet, throughout it all, she never lost her smile or her determination. She tackled that initial diagnosis with a maturity and grit that inspired everyone around her, and she won. After a hard-fought battle, she went into remission and lived years cancer free, chasing her dreams and proving just how strong she was.

Two years ago, the unthinkable happened: the cancer returned.

Despite the devastating news, Owny immediately started the fight again. She has been through every treatment available, facing each new challenge with the same incredible hope and strength. But recently, we received the news that the cancer is too aggressive. The treatments are no longer working, and she is now receiving palliative care.

A Time for Making Memories

In the face of this reality, Owny has once again shown her incredible strength. She is not defined by her illness, but by her unwavering positivity. Owny wants to live as much as she can with the people she loves, making memories while she feels strong enough.

She doesn't want pity; she wants to live whilst she can.

The funds raised here will go directly towards helping her tick off her bucket list. This includes things like:

• A visit to Lapland

• Watching her beloved Arsenal from a box

• A family day or celebration

•Driving Scotlands Route 66

Every moment now is precious. We want to lift the financial burden and logistics that come with these dreams so that Owny and our family can simply focus on making these final moments as joyful as possible.
