My dad, William Ratchford Jr., suffered from a massive stroke Monday evening. He had the blood clot surgically removed and is now dealing with physical and cognitive ailments from the stroke.
We are asking for your help for my father but for my mother who not only will be helping my dad out as he recovers but also taking care of my special needs sister who is nonverbal with motor skill deficiency. All of this shocking news has happened just a few days after they have relocated from Texas to North Carolina for retirement (he has been in the ministry for over 40 years). They are currently looking for a place to live permanently as well.
Financially, we are asking for your help in many ways. Medication is expensive for my dad (especially the blood thinners) and he will be receiving physical therapy along with not knowing yet what costs from the surgery were not covered. Any donations you send will cover the costs for what has been mentioned but also to help my mother out while they are going through this difficult time. As I have said, my little sister needs 24/7 care and having a job is not a possibility for my mom during this time.
We love you all and my father loves you as a pastor and as a friend. We thank you for the loving messages we have received and if you would like to send a card or gift then you can. My siblings and I all thank you for reaching out as we are dealing with this terrible event in our lives which is leaving us clambered and struggling. We know we will get through this and we are taking every day as it's own.
