Helping out Morgan and the Steeby Family
Donation protected
In February, Morgan and her brother collided while playing at the pool which resulted in a goose egg on the side of her head. As time went on the bump wasn't going away as expected. Morgan’s parents took her to the doctor precautionarily. A CT was performed and the report of the scan revealed suspected Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) on the lateral wall of her left eye and mastoid bone. A bone biopsy was done and confirmed the diagnosis. LCH is very rare (5 in 1 million) and in most cases only affects a single system, such as skin, or in this case bone. Due to the fact that it is in her skull, the risk is significantly increased. If her brain or pituitary system is infected it could be extremely detrimental. If it is found to also be in her organs such as liver or kidneys that also complicates things and has a higher chance (1 in 4) of death. Morgan has begun weekly chemo infusions and daily medications to offset the side effects of chemo treatment. Her parents are determined to be with her at every appointment. She will be missing school and other activities in that time, so her parents will also be missing a significant amount of work in this process.
Morgan absolutely loves singing. She's in the Honor Choir at her school and wants to be like Lauren Daigle, to share God's love and comfort through music. She is a ray of sunshine and is always ready to help others and make them feel wonderful.
