Hello everyone. We’re asking for help with Kyle Mayo’s medical and legal bills resulting from a horrible crash involving his daughters in July, 2021. Any size donation (however big or small) will greatly help. A little backstory:
On July 16, 2021 Kyle Mayo got a call that no parent ever wants to receive. Kyle was notified that his little girls, Kylie (7) and Aubrey (5) had been involved in a tragic and horrific vehicle crash outside of Cameron, MO, on their way home from their mother’s residence. While Aubrey sustained bruises and cuts, Kylie received the worst of the physical injuries, including broken bones and a severe head injury from brow to brow.
The vehicle the girls had been traveling in was driven by someone who was supposed to care for their safety. Someone who was supposed to care for them. Unfortunately, the best interests of those girls was far from this person’s mind. The driver admitted to the Highway Patrol to having smoked methamphetamine before the crash, and it was reported by multiple sources that the vehicle was traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour, all over the highway. The car eventually crashed and flipped over at least once, coming to a rest, upside-down. Kylie would later tell the authorities that she saw the driver smoking “something weird with a glass ball at the end of it,” while operating the car. By all accounts, we’re lucky and graced by God that Kylie and Aubrey survived.
Kylie’s injuries were so extensive that she was transferred to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, MO for emergency reconstructive surgery. This was the beginning of a long medical battle that she will have to fight, but the first surgery was successful.
There will no doubt be more doctors visits, more surgeries, more plastic surgeons, and more bills to come.
As for now, Kyle and his family are attempting to get therapy for the girls due to the trauma that they have experienced through this whole ordeal. Unfortunately, the deepest scars are usually the ones that we can’t see. This will also, no doubt, be a long psychological recovery.
As for the future, Kyle is exploring his options to gain full custody. Legal bills are piling up, on top of the medical bills. As of this posting, the medical bills have already exceeded $10,000.
Kyle is a single dad supporting his girls. The debt he is willing to go into for their benefit is crushing, and he needs our help. Anyone that knows Kyle knows that he looks out for his friends and family. He’s a great friend, and an even better father. His dedication to his girls’ safety, well-being, and their overall success in life has become his sole mission over the years. Kyle has been my best friend and brother for more than 20 years, and he has never been one to ask others for help, but he will need that help now more than ever.
Kyle has relied on God and his wonderful family for support up to this point to get him through such a tumultuous time, but it would greatly help if we, his friends and family, could all pitch in.
Kyle, Kylie, and Aubrey are now relying on US to help out and get them through this tough time, unforeseen bills, and certain debt. Let’s help shoulder this load!
Again, any size donation helps, even if it is your prayers and well wishes!
