Dear Gavilan community,

I am writing to ask if you would be willing to make a donation to help out Phil Williams’ widow Joanie Karns. Joanie has had some setbacks related to Phil’s recent death, and she still must make a visit to the US this summer from their home in Mexico to complete some business related to his death. The issue is that she needs to travel through two airports and on two planes, which makes her exposure to the Coronavirus too risky to stay with friends. She will need to stay at least two weeks for the business she needs to complete and that makes the stay very expensive with hotel and car rental costs alone; we are hoping to defray at least $2000 of the estimated costs.

She will be traveling in July or early August, so having a sense now of what help may be available would be very helpful.
