Helping our neighbor, Peggy Gore

Donation protected
On December 27th, 2016, our good friend and neighbor Peggy Gore was involved in a head-on collision on Casino Creek Road just outside of Lewistown late at night.  The other driver lost control on an icy corner with speeds in excess of 45 miles per hour and collided with Peggy head-on.

Peggy broke both femurs, both lower legs, shattered her knees, and broke 8 ribs in addition to multiple lacerations on her face and head.  She was airlifted to Billings where she spent several weeks in the hospital.  She was lucky enough to be moved to Valle Vista nursing home in early January to be closer to family to recuperate from her injuries.

She has insurance which has covered a significant portion of the initial hospital stay, but it has finally reached it's covered maximums and she could use some help.

Peggy was raised in Lewistown and worked at Pamida, now known as Shopko for 29 years.  She retired in 2015.  Her beloved husband Steve, a Viet Nam veteran, died suddenly just 3 years ago and she now lives alone.  She and Steve had two awesome kids who are grown with families of their own.

She and Steve saved for many years to build their dream home.  Unfortunately he passed away before they ever got started.  Peg finally broke ground this past summer.   With the help of wonderful neighbors,  such as the Ennis family, Barta family,  Farr family, Harmon family and many others, they've made great progress.  It's framed in with a roof partially finished.  Her current home was damaged by the extreme cold weather that moved into the area while the family was focused on her in the hospital.

She does not have a place to come home to yet once her injuries allow her to.

What kind of help is needed?  Help with the uncovered medical costs which are rising, is much needed.  Also, anyone with carpentry skills and supplies who would like to volunteer their services to help complete her home would be greatly appreciated.

If you believe in a higher power, whoever that may be, prayers and thoughts for her recovery are also always welcome.

Thank-you so much for taking the time to think positively for Peggy's recovery.
