Helping Our Mom Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Hi, I’m Jill, the daughter of Carol Winkler, and I’m reaching out for support on behalf of my siblings and family. On March 1st, 2024 our world was shaken when our mom received a diagnosis: stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Our mom isn’t just a cancer patient; she’s a woman of faith and the heart and soul of our family. Our mom’s greatest happiness is her family.

She’s the one who infuses our holidays with magic, shares her passion for baseball with all of us, crafts intricate cutting boards shaped like our home state of Michigan and brings the jokes and

laughter to all our game nights. She is fiercely loving, determined and loyal.

As the cornerstone of our family, she has always had an open-open door policy whenever her kids have needed support and now it is our turn to offer that same love and support.

After thorough research and consultations with multiple oncologists our mom has found Brio-Medical Cancer Center in Arizona. They have an integrative approach, combining holistic therapies with conventional treatments like chemotherapy which have shown promising results. This program offers a beacon of hope, aiming to slow or halt the cancers progression and bolster her immune systems ability to combat the disease.

However, hope comes at a cost. The treatment program our mom has chosen costs $87,000 for their 7-week program, excluding additional expenses for accommodation and travel. Unfortunately, the financial burden is too heavy for our family to bear alone.

This is where community comes in and that is why we are launching this GoFundMe campaign. By contributing any amount to our mom’s treatment, you are helping ease her financial burden so she can focus on healing and spending quality time with her kids and family.
