Helping Our Hero - Matt Chacanaca

Matt is a man who’s dedicated his life to helping others in need. Often times Matt is the voice of comfort for families as they are experiencing their worst days of their lives. Matt serves as a Springdale Firefighter and when he’s not here helping our community, he’s spending his time across the nation helping combat wildfires. If you asked him though, this wouldn’t be his greatest accomplishment. He would tell you the thing he’s most proud of are his friends, family, and of course his faith. 

On Wednesday, January 12th, Matt was admitted to the hospital for nerve pain and muscle weakness. After days of testing, he was diagnosed with Guillian-Barre Syndrome. He will remain in the hospital for treatment. Matt will undergo treatment to completely replace his immune system. Once this treatment is finished he will be sent to inpatient intensive therapy for a few weeks. Matt is looking at 6 months to a year for a full recovery.

I wanted to make this to show Matt, our hero, that the community stands behind him. We are all Matt Strong!  All of the funds raised will help cover Matt’s medical expenses and bills. Above all else, please say a prayer for Matt and his family.
