Helping our friend through a time of tragic loss.

Content Warning: this fundraiser contains images of a non-fatal car accident.
I’ve created this support fund (consensually) for my dear friend Bess.
On the heels of losing a most cherished person in their life to a drunk driver, Bess themself was hit by a reckless driver who ran a red light. Having hardly digested the reality of Fleetwood’s tragic death, this experience compounded the trauma of their loss.
Their airbag deployed, Bess was injured, and the vehicle was totaled, a complete loss. Nobody at the scene could understand how Bess walked away. I am so relieved that they did.
As the other motorist was under-insured and financing a vehicle is not an option, community care is Bess' best bet.
Funds raised will go towards:
- securing accessible transportation for Bess
- providing immediate rental relief and meal support
I hope we can relieve some of the material burden Bess is experiencing right now as they grieve and heal.
In community, Talcott
[image below: on the left is Fleetwood a white, non-binary cowboy wearing a grey knit cap dark eyebrows, dreamy clear eyes a fuzzy stache and a just a touch of a smirk. Nuzzled up to Fleets’ shoulder is Bess, a white non-binary QT with a fade haircut and light auburn ringlet curls on top. They have pink lipstick, a blue hoodie, and a little smile of relief and contentment on their face.]

[image descriptions: below are 3 images, each showing Bess' vehicle from a different angle immediately after it was hit. In each image the air bag can be seen through the vehicle glass and different parts of the car's front end are smashed. The car is at an odd angle in the road somewhat perpendicular splayrd out and out in the crosswalk . It is dark out and the street lights cast red on the scene.]
