The most dreaded thing to hear from your doctor is "you have cancer." Michelle learned of her breast cancer (BC) diagnosis on February 1, 2023: what made it worse, her BC had spread to her lymph nodes. Since then, she has been bravely battling this disease with strong doses of chemotherapy and radiation.

Another blow came in August of 2023. During surgery to remove the affected areas, the doctors discovered that the cancer had spread to her chest wall and other lymph nodes. Michelle continues to receive chemotherapy/radiation treatments that have resulted in devastating side effects, requiring trips to the ER and two hospitalizations that set-back her treatment and recovery. Although Michelle puts on a huge smile and brave face, she deals with multiple side-effects such as constant nerve pain, memory loss, confusion, and vision changes, just to name a few. Michelle has been out of work since February of last year and has since exhausted her leave.

Despite all this, Michelle remains positive and selfless throughout this difficult journey.
