Helping our friend Greg

Dear Friends,

Our friend Greg needs our support. Greg has been dealing with a high-grade, invasive bladder cancer which is life threatening/ending. Greg, finally after months of tests and procedures received the full diagnosis and prognosis a couple of weeks ago. It's been a very stressful and anxious time for our friend. Greg is currently waiting to transition to an Oncologist from his Urologist. The hope is that there are alternate therapies an Oncologist can provide that will slow down if not stop the spread of this cancer. The prognosis so far is not great given the aggressive nature and location of this cancer. Greg will be going on an extended medical leave shortly.

Those of us who know Greg know that he has two passions in life. #1 is travelling. Greg has worked two jobs for many many years to realize this passion. The second is Greg's love of Greece. Greece has always been a magical and therapeutic place for Greg. The people, the food, the beaches and sea are what has been bringing Greg back to Greece year after year.

I am asking that people donate to help support Greg financially during the medical leave (we don't know if or when Greg can return to work) and to get Greg to Greece this September for what will most likely be his "last hurrah" in a place that has given him so much pleasure. Think of it as the adult version of "Make a Wish". Greg generally is very private about most things, and especially health issues. It's very hard for him to accept the generosity and support from friends as he strives to be self-sufficient. But he needs our help and support to say one last goodbye to a place he loves so much and to get through whatever challenges await him during this cancer journey. Any amount will help and I know Greg would be eternally grateful for this beautiful gift.
